Pay rent late -- go to jail

My rent was a few days late because my nearly-broke employer did not pay me on time. The office staff immediately threatened to not only evict me, but have me arrested. Then when I paid, they said they wouldno take payment because late fees that I was unaware of were not included. And they again threatened to arrest me and evict me for not paying after they refused to accept the payment. I am outta here as soon as I can be.  Need to rent an apartment?
